There may be a couple Greg projects in the wings, everyone! There’s a new movie called Closing the Ring. It’s about a dying WWI gunner who gives a ring to a local man, telling him to get it back to his girlfriend back in the USA. Fifty years later, a man finds the ring and sets out to track the girlfriend down and discover the history of the ring. Greg’s character is “Young Jack.”

It’s also reported that Greg has a hand–as a producer, not an actor–in a comedic film called “Wieners.”

There are also a handful of new Journal Icons, mostly mourning the passing of Everwood. In honor of said passing, a few Everwood caps were added to the Galleries.

That’s in in terms of actual updates; however, I wanted to propose something I’ve been thinking about for awhile. It’s an addition, or rather a readdition, to GSN. How many of you miss Spinning, the fanfiction archive? I’ve been thinking seriously of bringing it back, but I wanted to see how you guys felt about it. Please let me know by commenting on this entry, or by e-mailing me at melissa@gregory-smith.net.

While poking around on the Internet, I came across this review from Variety.com about Nearing Grace by Robert Koehler. While Mr. Koehler believes that most of the movie is predictable and rather worn, he has only nice things to say about Greg's performance:

"Without Smith's graceful presense… Nearing Grace would be pure video fodder. As it is, he gives the story what emotional density it has, and when he and the adorable Johnson trade quips and looks with each other, there's promise of star appeal."

New Fan of the Month!

June 7, 2006

Congratulations to Lili of Costa Rica, GSN's June 2006 Fan of the Month!

There's not much more to announce presently. I fixed a problem with the Memory page; now all of the games should come up properly.(Thanks Jennifer!) Also, we may have a new staff member, shortly! Other than that, I'm finishing up the new layout and hope to have it up in a few days.

Help save Everwood!

June 3, 2006

As I’m sure many of you now know, the WB has announced that the next episode of Everwood will not be the season finale as we so thought, but the series finale. In an attempt to rally fans to convince the CW to pick up Everwood this fall, Everwood Music.com has put together a special website. Save-Everwood.org is the place for any fan wishing to help save the show from an early demise.
I urge you all to visit the website. TheWB royally screwed Everwood over this year, with the pre-emtying and all matter of other sins. Don’t let it kill the show, especially now that it’s back on track!

New start, new blog

June 3, 2006

To celebrate Gregory-Smith.net's fresh new start, I proudly announce GSN's new update blog. Hopefully hosting the blog remotely will make it easier to post updates and a whole lot of other behind-the-scenes type of jazz. Ultimately, I hope it will make GSN a stronger site.
